Business Headshots London
And the importance of a great profile pic
What’s the first thing you look at when you open a magazine? If you’re anything like me you’ll go straight to the photo. If that hooks you in might then go to read the article. No Business Headshots on there and you may very well skip the page and turn straight to the next one. Your business is exactly the same.
Think what it’s like for all those prospective clients trawling that world-wide-web looking for someone just like you. With so much competition online it’s never been so important as it is now to grab the attention.
However fabulous your content, you’ll only hook those clients in if there’s a great pic there for them to see. We’re still all human (despite our reliance on techie tools) and all want to work with someone we feel we can connect with. Clients are swayed by a photo of someone warm, appealing and professional.
If you still have that holiday photo with your partner’s arm still in the frame or worse still have no photo at all, those lovely clients will soon be turning the page and clicking on the website of a business who has. Don’t lose the gig because of something so simple!
Getting it sorted with great Business Headshots London
So with this in mind, it’s time to find yourself a photographer. Have a look through various websites and check the galleries. Make sure the images on there speak to you and are the kind of ‘look’ you’re after for your business.
Different photographers have different styles and they won’t all be what you’re looking for so it’s very important to really like their work before trusting them with getting you a headshot you’ll love.
It’s a scary enough prospect plonking yourself in front of a camera so feeling confident of the photographer’s style can help hugely.
Make sure you can get a good variety of photos too. You may need to use different images in the future and not just for your website profile – what about that image the journalist asks you for when you’ve had some great PR, or the company editorial that needs something different from your usual pic?
You’re not going to want to keep booking yourself a photographer so get as much variety – different outfits, different backgrounds, different ‘looks’ all in the one shoot. A bank of great shots can last you years!
You may have spent days, weeks or even months writing out those testimonials and composing your ‘About Me’ page but if there’s no you on there it’ll all be wasted. Your Business is you – go on, you know it’s true – it’s time to embrace your face!
Out of interest though – what IS the first thing you look at?
